August

Province of Ontario Survey on Physician Assisted Dying
In February 2015, the Supreme Court of Canada unanimously struck down the Criminal Code prohibition against physician-assisted dying. Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, Dr. Eric Hoskins, and the Attorney General Madeleine Meilleur have announced the creation of a Provincial-Territorial Expert Advisory Group On Physician-Assisted Dying. The advisory group will seek advice from stakeholders and those with expertise in this area, and will consider key policy questions related to how the provinces and territories implement the Supreme Court decision, as their jurisdictions are responsible for delivering health care and regulating health care professions.
