Sue Bailey Invested into the Order of Ontario
Palliative care nurse, teacher, pioneer and advocate for the rights of the dying Sue Bailey has been recognized with the province's highest honor. Sue Bailey of Thunder Bay was named among 25 inductees to the Order of Ontario, which recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence and achievement. Sue’s dedication and high level of expertise and knowledge has helped shape the development of palliative care in Ontario, transforming the way the medical community approaches patients who are nearing the end of life. CERAH staff wish to congratulate Sue and thank her for her valuable contributions to the work of our centre over the years and for her commitment to improving palliative care locally and beyond. Public Consultation on Physician-Assisted Dying - Thunder Bay, January 20th
Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO) has issued a news release that includes information on Ontario's proposed approach to physician-assisted dying. To help further inform the approach, Ontario is inviting the general public to share their views on physician-assisted dying and end-of-life care through in-person public consultations to be held in nine communities in January 2016.
