National Bereavement Day 2017
Today, November 21, 2017, marks the first annual Bereavement Day in Canada. This campaign, started by the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association (CHPCA), encourages all Canadian to reflect about those who have passed from our lives, and to help advocate for supports at the provincial and national levels for grieving Canadians. This year's theme is "It's time to talk about grief and bereavement in Canada" which encourages individuals and groups to learn about grief and bereavement and asks them to sensitize Canada's provincial and federal governments about grief and bereavement issues. CERAH Events - June 8 & 9
The founder of Toronto’s PEACH (Palliative Education And Care for the Homeless) is coming to Thunder Bay to deliver education on palliative care for the homeless and the vulnerably housed. Dr. Naheed Dosani is a passionate and respected advocate for marginalized and vulnerable populations with palliative needs. He will be in Thunder Bay on Thursday, June 8 and Friday, June 9, organized by Lakehead University’s Centre for Education and Research on Aging & Health (CERAH) with Hospice Northwest, Dilico Anishinabek Family Care, the North West LHIN Regional Palliative Care Program of St. Joseph’s Care Group, and a group of local palliative care physicians. “How do we value dignity at the end of life?"
