Dr. Mary Lou Kelley Named Citizen of Exceptional Achievement

The City of Thunder Bay has established a policy to officially recognize local citizens, groups and organizations who have achieved special accomplishments in the areas of Culture, Sports and Public Service.

Dr. Mary Lou Kelley will receive a Citizen of Exceptional Achievement Award for her work as a Lakehead University social work professor and a researcher with the Centre for Education and Research on Aging & Health (CERAH).

As a CERAH research affiliate and former Centre director, she has been instrumental in helping this dynamic organization achieve its mission of advancing health and social care for an aging population and promoting the health and well being of people aging across the life span.

The Award will be presented to Dr. Kelley at the beginning of the Committee of the Whole meeting held Monday, August 13 at 6:30 pm in the S.H. Blake Auditorium in City Hall.

The public are welcome to attend.
