Carmelita Lawlor Lectureship Dr. Mary Lou Kelley

Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO) has announced that this year's recipient of the Carmelita Lawlor Lectureship is Dr. Mary Lou Kelley, Research Affiliate, Centre for Education and Research on Aging and Health (CERAH), Lakehead University. Dr. Kelley, selected as the 2015 recipient of the Richard R. Walker Visionary Award for her exceptional contribution to advance the hospice palliative care movement in Ontario, is presenting Bringing Dying Back to the Community: Reflections and Insights. This session will take place at the upcoming HPCO 2016 Annual Conference: Putting the Pieces Together Collaborating for Quality Hospice Palliative Care in Ontario, which takes place Sunday, April 17 to Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in Richmond Hill, ON.

The Carmelita Lawlor Lectureship in Palliative Care is made possible by the generous endowment at the University of Toronto established by Carmelita Lawlor who died from cancer. Carmelita Lawlor, who eventually died from cancer, received care at home from a team led by Dr. Linda Rapson of what became Trinity Home Hospice and is now known as Hospice Toronto. Wanting to ensure there would be an ongoing opportunity to learn about palliative care from well-known and respected people in the field, the endowment ensures this session is open to the public.

Visit hpco.ca for emerging information regarding time and location of the session.

Congratulations Mary Lou!
