DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Indigenous Services Canada Health and Social Services Sector and Health Canada\, Lakehead University’s Centre for Education and Research on Aging & Health (CERAH) is pleased to offer palliative care education for health and social care providers serving Indigenous Communities in Canada.\n\nCaring for Indigenous Peoples: Palliative Care Education for Health & Social Care Providers – Beginning the Journey*:\nThis workshop is the first of a two-part series that provides an introduction to the palliative approach to care. \nCERAH’s education is Indigenous-led and facilitated by Indigenous and non-Indigenous health and social care providers\, with guidance and support from local Elders and Knowledge Carriers. Workshops incorporate circle work\, ceremony\, case studies\, hands-on learning\, and small and large group discussions\, along with additional resources to support continued learning. \nWho:\nThis event is intended for Indigenous and allied health and social care providers working with Indigenous communities. Registration priority will be given to those who have not previously participated. \nHow:\nVirtually; delivered over 4 days (once per week; 12 hours total) \nInteractive sessions will be held virtually via Zoom including Q&A and breakout rooms. Zoom allows for video AND audio participation.
