In this session, certified grief counsellor, Claudia Otto will share practical tips, tools, and examples of ways health and social care providers can help others heal through methods like storytelling and tapping into the senses. This session will describe various approaches to support patients and families at various stages of their grief journey. Please note that this session will NOT be recorded.
Claudia’s Bio:
Claudia was born and raised in Thunder Bay, leaving for her education and then returning. She is the proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren and one grand-dog.
She is a member of the Charis Centre healing team. Claudia has worked for over 20 years as a counsellor and psychodramatic bodyworker. She is a facilitator and trainer with Hospice Northwest Hearts & Hope Grief Support Group and the Gashkendamidee (Grieving from the Heart)- the Indigenous grief support program. She is an educator who has taught at the Oshki-Wenjack Educational Institute for 12 years in the Social Service and the Addiction Counselling programs.
