Registration now available for Palliative Care Booster!

The Booster will be held on the afternoon of November 14th and the morning of November 15th, 2013, at the Airlane Hotel & Conference Centre, Thunder Bay. The event will feature a plenary session on cross cultural communication presented by recognized cultural teacher Ron Kanutski. Interactive concurrent sessions will allow participants to explore the use of high fidelity simulation for interprofessional palliative care education, as well as practice how to have effective family meetings. The Booster will also feature two panel sessions: one will discuss the benefits of building internal and external partnerships to strengthen palliative care delivery in long term care, and another will highlight the different palliative care resources available in our region, providing information on how to access these services and answering delegate questions. Additionally, during the Booster a range of organizations providing health care services will set up displays, and posters highlighting various activities/innovations/ research in palliative care will also be featured.

An evening workshop where participants will have the opportunity to experience high fidelity simulation first-hand is also being offered in conjunction with the Booster as a Special Event.
