Advancing Indigenous Policy & Practice Conference

About:

Coordinated by the SE Health First Nations, Inuit, and Métis team, in partnership with Lakehead University’s Centre for Education and Research on Aging & Health (CERAH), you will have an opportunity to participate in meaningful knowledge exchange with over 150 in-person and 200 virtual participants from across Canada.

Home is foundational to health and well-being. Together, we will work to support a journey home with those living with serious illness within Indigenous communities.

Who this Event is for:

This national event will unite Indigenous providers, policy professionals, leaders, advocates and allies across Canada to explore strategies and collaborative solutions for advancing Indigenous policy and practice, including:

  • Elders and Knowledge Keepers
  • Health Professionals
  • Policy Professionals
  • Community Health Leaders

NOTE: Registration for those who work for an Indigenous Community or Organization is FREE.

What to Expect:

Expect to attend engaging presentations and insightful discussions. The Knowledge Exchange provides an opportunity to understand the alignment of key initiatives, identify opportunities to address barriers and inform meaningful next steps on the journey home:

  • Indigenous Self-Determination in Palliative and End-of-Life Care.
  • National Engagement on Indigenous Perspectives on Medical Assistance in Dying
  • Wholistic Continuum of Long-Term and Continuing Care
