Lakehead Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic
LNPC offers counselling services for existing patients. They have 2 social workers on site to do one-on-one services. For more information, please contact (807) 475-9595.
St. Joseph’s Hospital: Hospice Unit
The SJCG Hospice Unit offers grief counselling for anyone who has lost a loved one on the 4th floor of the St. Joseph’s Hospital. Individuals must contact the 4th floor hospice unit social worker to make arrangements for service. Services to support cultural and language needs available upon request. St. Joseph’s Hospital: Spiritual Care
The St. Joseph’s Hospital Spiritual Care program offers counselling and grief support one-on-one (in person or over the phone). These services are available to SJCG clients and their family members. Language and cultural needs can be accommodated upon request. Please call (807) 343-2431 and request spiritual care or dial ext. 2638.
St. Joseph’s Care Group: Mental Health Outpatient Program
This program offers counseling for complex grief or atypical prolonged grief (e.g. loss from suicide, persistent depression as a result of a loss). All clients must go through a welcome workshop before completing a treatment plan. This program also provides counselling on a case by case basis for trauma, depression, etc. that may be connected to a loss. The clinic is located at the Victoriaville site and can be reached at (807) 624-3400.
Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre: Spiritual Care & Psychotherapy
TBRHSC offers one-to-one counselling and spiritual care guidance for those dealing with grief & loss. An Indigenous Spiritual Care Provider is also available to provide culturally appropriate bereavement support for Indigenous patients. Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre: Cancer Clinic Supportive Care
Patients and family members are eligible for one-to-one support following a loss. Family members are eligible to receive grief support up to 18 months following the death of their loved one.
